Asus ROG Phone 6D Ultimate Launch Set for 19 September – Highest-end Model?
August 30, 2022 Andrew Cheng

It looks like Asus will be introducing a new variant of its latest gaming phone, which was launched just last month. Dubbed Asus ROG Phone 6D Ultimate, it could possibly be the highest-end model in the series, given its “ultimate” moniker.

Rumours are suggesting that the ROG Phone 6D Ultimate will be powered by MediaTek’s latest Dimensity 9000+ chipset. While a MediaTek chip may not be as popular as Qualcomm’s offerings, it’ll be interesting to see if it can match (or outperform) the performance of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC found in the current ROG Phone 6.

Beyond the different chipset, there’s a good chance the ROG Phone 6D Ultimate will feature similar hardware as the ROG Phone 6. If that’s the case, it’ll come with a 6.78-inch 1080p 165Hz AMOLED display, a triple camera system (50MP primary + 13MP ultra-wide + macro), a 12MP selfie camera, and a generous 6,000mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging.

We’ll find out exactly what the Asus ROG Phone 6D Ultimate brings to the table once it is unveiled come 19 September next month. Given Asus’ commitment to the Malaysian market with its range of gaming phones, there’s a good chance the ROG Phone 6D Ultimate will also debut here.
