Apple Sets iPhone 14 Series Launch for 8 September
August 25, 2022 Andrew Cheng

The time of the year is here: Apple just sent out an invitation to a new launch event happening on 8 September at 1AM for us here in Malaysia. More likely than not, we will see the debut of the Cupertino company’s brand new iPhone 14 series at the event.

As usual, four different iPhone 14 models are expected, but there is a distinct change here. While the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max are retained for the new series, rumours are suggesting the absence of an iPhone 14 mini.

Instead, it’s said to be replaced by another iPhone 14 model with the Pro Max’s size.

Another notable (rumoured) change is the fact that only the iPhone 14 Pro models will get Apple’s new A series chip; the regular iPhone 14 variants will supposedly soldier on with the same – but still very, very capable – A15 Bionic chip. Oh, the Pro models could finally get rid of the notched display too in favour of a hole-punch cutout.

If these rumours prove to be legitimate, we’re looking at one of the most drastic changes to the design and overall lineup of the iPhone 14 series. We’ll find out for sure come 8 September at 1AM; that’s exactly two weeks away.
