Now this is interesting. At launch, three different variants of the Nothing Phone 1 were listed on the Malaysian pre-order page of the phone. But now, two of them have been removed from the listing, which seems to suggest that only one variant of the phone will be offered in Malaysia.
The two variants of the Phone 1 that were removed are the 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB configurations; the latter even had a RM2,699 price tag. Now, only the 8GB + 256GB model is left on the pre-order page, which is listed at RM2,399.
Anyway, for that kind of money, the Nothing Phone 1 features a Snapdragon 778G+ chipset with 5G connectivity, which should be more than capable to provide a fast, zippy user experience. This is complemented by the phone’s equally speedy 6.55-inch 1080p OLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate.
Other specifications of the Phone 1 include a dual camera system (50MP primary + 50MP ultra-wide angle), a 16MP selfie camera, an IP53 rating, an in-screen fingerprint sensor, and a reasonably big 4,500mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.
Given that the product listing of the Nothing Phone 1 has been updated – and the fact that the phone is certified with SIRIM already – it’s likely the phone will be launched in Malaysia very, very soon. After all, the Phone 1 is set to be available in selected markets from 21 July.
