The 2022 Honda HR-V will make its Malaysian debut next week on 14 July. Ahead of its local launch, it looks like the B-segment SUV is heading to showrooms, as these spy shots show.
These images came from Paultan.org, which show the range-topping RS trim of the new HR-V in all its glory. This hybrid variant is sporting the SUV’s signature red paint job, which should be dubbed Ignite Red Metallic. Yes, the same colour option offered on other Honda models.

Looking back at the teaser shared by Honda Malaysia, the RS trim of the new HR-V comes with a 1.5L i-MMD e:HEV powertrain; it is touted as the “most advanced” engine in the B-segment market. On top of that, it will also get the Honda Sensing suite of driver assistance safety systems and sequential turn signals.
Aside from that, there are numerous reports that the new generation HR-V will also be offered with a 1.5L turbocharged VTEC engine and a naturally-aspirated mill. This will certainly make the B-segment SUV more appealing to customers that don’t fancy the hybrid powertrain. Of course, there’s the much more modern styling of the SUV as well to capture buyers’ attention.

The 2022 Honda HR-V is now open for booking in Malaysia, though you’re looking at more than 12 months of wait at the moment. Naturally, the local pricing of the B-segment SUV has not been revealed yet either; we’ll find out for ourselves once the new HR-V is launched here on 14 July next week.
