God of War, Horizon, Gran Turismo to Get TV Series – Netflix & Amazon Involved
May 27, 2022 Andrew Cheng

Sony continues to expand its PlayStation franchise to other medium. In a business briefing, Sony Pictures Entertainment CEO, Tony Vinciquerra, confirmed that God of War, Horizon, and Gran Turismo will get their own TV series.

God of War has been picked up by Amazon for its Prime Video series, while Netflix secured streaming rights to Horizon. No word yet on which company will take up Gran Turismo, suggesting that it may be in the earlier planning phase.

It’s worth noting that God of War was previously confirmed to receive its own live-action TV series back in March; now we know Amazon will be handling it. Other PlayStation IPs that will get their own live-action adaptations include Last of Us, Ghost of Tsushima, and even Jak and Daxter.

Given Uncharted’s success on the big screens – despite the fact that it’s not a faithful adaption, in our opinion – there’s certainly potential to expand Sony’s PlayStation franchise beyond gaming. Here’s hoping the adaptations will appeal to existing and new fans alike.
