After yesterday’s teaser, Setel officially announced the addition of EV charging to its app. Currently, five EV charging stations can be found in the Setel app, and curiously, two of them are free to use at the moment.
These five (pilot) EV charging stations are done in partnership with JomCharge. They can be found at Lotus’s Tesco Kepong, Carsome PJ Automall, Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort in Penang, EV Connection Workshop in Petaling Jaya, and ACO Group’s headquarters in Johor Bahru – the latter two are currently free to use.
Do note that charging cables are not provided at these EV chargers, so you are required to bring your own. In order to use the charging station, you’ll just have to activate it from the Setel app. Naturally, payment is also done in the app itself through the Setel Wallet.
According to Setel, more EV charging stations will be added in the future. In order to use this new feature, make sure you’ve updated the Setel app to Version 1.96. Oddly enough, only the Apple App Store has this new update; the Google Play Store is still on Version 1.95.2.
Nonetheless, more details on Setel’s EV chargers can be found here.
