Now this is quite interesting. Setel, which mainly allows you to pay for fuel at Petronas stations nationwide, seems to be teasing support for EV charging. If this is the case, it will certainly make it much easier for EV owners to look for a charger.
This was teased by Setel through its social media pages. The teaser is a simple one, simply stating that “something electrifying is coming.” No other information was given, unfortunately enough, though the company said that more details will be revealed as soon as tomorrow.
Looking at Setel’s latest update note for the app, the company made some changes to the map on the home page. It mentions that users can now “discover places where you can pay with Setel and earn more Mesra points to redeem rewards and fuel.”
With this in mind, there’s a good chance the Setel app will add EV charging stations to the map. After all, certain Petronas stations already have EV chargers. Nonetheless, we’ll find out for ourselves come tomorrow.
