To celebrate the 13th anniversary of the Proton Exora, the national carmaker revealed the sales number of the C-segment MPV. Touted as the top-selling car in its segment, over 186,137 units of the Exora are now on Malaysian roads.

That is a respectable figure, and despite being in the market for 13 years now – it was launched back in 2009 – a number of folks are still purchasing the Exora. Just last month in March, 536 units of the Exora were delivered.

Of course, starting at RM57,300 with sales tax exemption applied until 30 June 2022, the Exora is quite an affordable MPV. For that kind of money, it also offers a 1.6L turbocharged engine that outputs 140PS and 205Nm of torque paired with a CVT gearbox. Drive is sent to the front wheels.

If you want to get the Proton Exora minus sales tax, you’ve got until 30 June 2022 to do so. Given that the exemption period has been extended three times already, it’s unlikely the Malaysian government will give another extension.
