Oppo Find X5 Pro Also Offered With Dimensity 9000 in China
February 25, 2022 Andrew Cheng

For the global market, the Oppo Find X5 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. But for those residing in China, there’s actually another version of the flagship phone packed with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chip instead.

Dubbed Oppo Find X5 Pro Dimensity Edition, it is one of the first phones to be powered by the new flagship MediaTek chipset, though this particular version seems to be exclusive to the China market at the moment. Aside from the different chipset, this (seemingly) China-only X5 Pro has a number of other differences too.

Most notably, the Find X5 Pro Dimensity Edition does not feature Oppo’s heavily marketed MariSilicon X Imaging NPU; this means the Qualcomm variant may be able to deliver better camera performance. Curiously, the MediaTek model doesn’t have the Hasselblad branding or the five-axis OIS system on the 50MP primary camera either.

Beyond these differences, the Dimensity 9000-powered Find X5 Pro has similar hardware as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 model. These include a 6.7-inch WQHD+ curved AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, a generous 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W SuperVOOC fast charging, an IP68 rating, and a ceramic back.

The Oppo Find X5 Pro Dimensity Edition is only offered in a single configuration in China. Sporting 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM, it is priced at 5,799 Chinese yuan (about RM3,855). For the sake of comparison, the equivalent Qualcomm model is slightly more costly at 6,299 yuan (approximately RM4,185).
