Set to be launched in Malaysia this Thursday on 13 January, the all-new 2022 Honda Civic has been spotted on a trailer. Chances are, these units are heading to Honda dealerships ahead of the C-segment sedan’s official launch.
These pictures were uploaded by Daniel Chee Kah Chun on the Civic FE Club Malaysia’s Facebook page. Based on official shots of the sedan from Honda Malaysia, this should be the range-topping Civic RS. The 18-inch alloy wheels with a black matte finish can be seen in the shot, alongside the black door handles, side mirrors, and spoiler.
As per our previous report, three different variants of the 11th gen Civic are available in Malaysia: the base E, mid-tier V, and range-topping RS. Surprisingly enough, even the most affordable E model is set to get the Honda Sensing suite of driver assistance safety systems.
With the launch of the 2022 Civic, the 1.8L engine will no longer be offered either. All variants of the updated sedan seem to feature the updated 1.5L turbo mill. It now outputs 182PS and 240Nm of torque, which is 9PS and 20Nm more than the current 10th gen Civic.
Just like the Civic FC, the 11th gen model can be purchased in five different shades: Platinum White Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, Meteoroid Grey Metallic, and Ignite Red Metallic (likely the colour of the Civic pictured above). The latter two are new paints for the Civic, which are also offered for the City Hatchback.
