After a number of delays, the Keychron Q1 is finally available in Malaysia from Keybot, the official Keychron partner in Malaysia. Not only can you get the 75% gasket-mounted keyboard much quicker now, Keybot is pricing the Q1 quite competitively too.
The barebone version of the Q1, for one, is listed at only RM595 by Keybot. On Keychron’s own online store, the same configuration goes for $149 (about RM630) instead. The fully assembled model, on the other hand, is priced at RM685; Keychron itself is selling this variant for $169 (around RM710).
What makes the Q1 particularly interesting is its feature set. Not only does the Q1 use a gasket mounting system, which is typically only offered on custom keyboards, it also has a full CNC aluminium case, along with a hotswap PCB that supports VIA out of the box for easy key mapping.
Keychron also worked with Gateron quite a bit for the Q1. Not only can it be purchased with three new factory lubed Gateron Phantom switches – Phantom Brown (tactile), Phantom Red (linear), or Phantom Blue (clicky) – it features screw-in stabilisers made by Gateron too.
Usually, the stock stabilisers of pre-built keyboards are not of particularly good quality, but that’s surprisingly not the case with the Q1. These Gateron-made stabilisers are lubed quite well at the factory to minimise rattling, and they feel nice and secure too.
The Keychron Q1 is now available for purchase in Malaysia from Keybot on Shopee or its own online store. Do note that this is not the new version of the Q1 with a knob and other improvements – that revised model will only be brought in at a later date by Keybot.
