Keychron Q1 With Knob Goes on Sale 28 December From $159 – Improvements Added

Keychron will be releasing a newer and improved version of its popular Keychron Q1 keyboard soon. Not only does the updated Q1 offer a slew of improvements, it also comes with a knob now.

Naturally, these upgrades do increase the asking price of the Q1 by $10. This puts the barebone version at $159 (about RM670), while the fully assembled model – which is bundled with double shot ABS keycaps and Gateron G Pro switches – goes for $179 (around RM755).

For that kind of money, the new Q1 does offer better sound profile, thanks to its slightly thicker aluminium bottom casing. There are also silicone pads between the top and bottom cases to further reduce case ping. Curiously, Keychron also swapped out the aluminium plate for a steel one, making the board “heavier and sturdier,” as the company puts it.

Aside from that, the updated Q1 features new screw-in stabilisers as well, though it wasn’t mentioned if these are also made by Gateron. Of course, you get the knob on the top right corner of the Q1 too, though the coiled aviator cable is no longer bundled with the keyboard.

The Keychron Q1 with a knob will go on sale as an in-stock product on 28 December next week at 10PM Malaysian time. We were also told that Keybot – the official Keychron partner here in Malaysia – will also be bringing in this new Q1, though there’s no tentative timeline yet.
