Apple just announced its next hardware event, which is taking place next week on 19 October for us here in Malaysia. Chances are, we will see the debut of two new MacBooks at the event, along with a redesigned, higher-end Mac mini, and even a pair of third-generation AirPods.
As with all of Apple’s invites for its events, the teaser is a simple one with just the word “Unleashed” being the centre theme. But as the video for the event below shows, the word itself appears to be made up of tiny dots, which could be a nod to the new MacBooks’ rumoured mini-LED displays.
If previous rumours are to be believed, Apple is expected to unveil new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models. Not only are they said to be sporting mini-LED displays, they may be powered by Apple’s latest ARM-based M1X chip too. This new processor should bring notable performance boost compared to the current M1 chip.
As for the redesigned Mac mini, it is rumoured to be packing the upcoming M1X chip too, along with better selection of ports to suit power users. The third-generation AirPods, on the other hand, are believed to be more similar in design to the current AirPods Pro with shorter stems and a new charging case.
We’ll find out for ourselves if these new products will really make an appearance at next week’s Apple event. You can catch the livestream on 19 October at 1AM (Malaysian time) on Apple.com.
