Just last week, we wrote about the SIRIM certification of the Microsoft Surface Pro 8, suggesting that the brand new Windows tablet will be arriving in Malaysia very soon. Well, it’s now confirmed to be coming to our local market early next year in 2022.
The Malaysian availability of the Surface Pro 8 was spotted by Lowyat.NET on Microsoft Malaysia’s website. As shown on the page, the tablet – and the Surface Laptop Studio – is said to arrive here in early 2022. Given that the Pro 8 has been registered with SIRIM already, it’s interesting that it will only be sold locally next year.
Anyway, compared to its predecessor, the Surface Pro 8 sees a much more significant design revision. Not only does it sport a larger 13-inch PixelSense Flow Display now with smaller bezels, it also has a higher 120Hz refresh rate for a more responsive user experience.
The Surface Pro 8 can also be paired with the new Surface Pro Signature Keyboard that houses the equally new Surface Slim Pen 2 stylus too. More importantly, this Windows tablet finally gets two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 support as well.
Other specifications of the Surface Pro 8 include Intel’s latest 11th generation Core i5 or Core i7 processor, up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage – the base model features 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage – along with up to 16 hours of battery life.
Naturally, no word yet on the Malaysian pricing of the Microsoft Surface Pro 8. We’ll just have to wait until early 2022 to find out once the Windows tablet is available here.
