iPhone 13 Series Coming on 15 September
September 8, 2021 Andrew Cheng

Apple just sent out invitations to its next big fall event. Chances are, we will see the debut of the Cupertino company’s latest iPhone 13 series at the event, which (naturally) promises quite a number of upgrades.

The teaser for the event, as is the case with Apple’s previous teasers, is a simple one with just the tagline “California streaming” highlighted. The AR Easter egg for the event is quite cool too: you can “walk into” the Apple logo to reveal a nighttime landscape. This could be a reference to the improved low light performance of the new iPhones’ cameras.

Speaking of which, if previous rumours are to be believed, the Pro models of the 2021 iPhones are expected to be equipped with an ultra-wide angle camera with autofocus capability. Usually, ultra-wide angle sensors have a fixed focus, so this is quite a good upgrade, even if Apple is not the first phone maker to do so.

Aside from that, the iPhone 13 series is said to be similar to the iPhone 12 models, though there will be some design changes. Not only will the display notch be slightly smaller, the lens arrangement of the rear camera module is said to be revised too.

Apple’s “California streaming” fall event will be taking place on 15 September next week at 1AM for us here in Malaysia. Aside from the iPhone 13, it’s possible the company will reveal a number of other surprises too – maybe even a couple of new MacBook laptops.
