Proton Showrooms Opening Gradually – No Walk-ins Allowed
August 18, 2021 Andrew Cheng

In line with the government’s ease of restrictions on the automotive sector, Proton just announced that its showrooms will be opening gradually nationwide. Of course, a number of new SOPs are introduced as well, such as not allowing customer walk-ins.

If you want to visit any Proton showroom, you are required to make an appointment with the respective outlet. On top of that, only fully vaccinated customers – who are also classified as Low Risk in the MySejahtera app – are allowed entry. The same goes for Proton’s sales staff: only those who are fully vaccinated are allowed to work in showrooms.

On top of that, both customers and Proton staff are required to wear double face masks in the showroom. “To safeguard the safety of everyone, all customers and Proton sales outlet staff are required to always wear double face masks and to maintain physical distancing,” Proton said in a press statement.

At the moment, Proton showrooms are only reopening in four states: Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Negeri Sembilan, and Perlis. The national carmaker also mentioned that sales outlets in Sabah and Sarawak have already been open since July 2021.

Now that car factories are allowed to operate nationwide, the automotive industry should start recovering lost businesses from the current COVID-19 pandemic. If you’ve been waiting to receive delivery of your car, perhaps it’s time to give your sales advisor a call for an update.
