Here it is: the full video of the 2022 Proton Persona crash test by the New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asia (ASEAN NCAP). Although only the Persona is tested in this crash test, it is considered to be valid for the 2022 Iriz as well, given the similarities between the two B-segment models.
Safety has always been one of the main selling points of Proton’s models, so it’s no surprise that the new 2022 Persona and Iriz got a full five-star rating in ASEAN NCAP’s crash test. Do note that the Persona in this test is of the Standard variant, so it’s missing the curtain airbags in the side impact crash test.
Looking at the results, both the Persona and Iriz have adequate adult occupant protection. In frontal and side impacts, the driver and passenger are adequately protected. With an overall score of 84.13, these two B-segment models are eligible to be awarded the 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating.
