Xiaomi Mix 4 Unveiled With Under Display Camera for a Truly All-Screen Design
August 11, 2021 Andrew Cheng

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a new Mi Mix device from Xiaomi. After some hiatus, it’s back with the sleek Xiaomi Mix 4. Sporting a true “all-screen” design, this phone features an under display camera.

Xiaomi calls this Camera Under Panel (CUP) technology, and as its name suggests, the 20MP camera is placed beneath the Mix 4’s screen. According to the Chinese company, the display has a 400ppi zone around the selfie camera to let light pass through for the camera to work.

As for the Mix 4’s display itself, it’s a 6.67-inch 2400 x 1080 AMOLED display that curves on either sides of the phone, along with a 120Hz refresh rate. Aside from that, this is also one of the first phones to ship with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 888+ chipset, which features faster CPU and AI Engine.

Other specifications of the Mix 4 include 8GB or 12GB of RAM, three storage options (128GB, 256GB, 512GB), a triple camera system (108MP primary + 13MP ultra-wide angle + 8MP periscope telephoto with 5x optical zoom), and a 4,500mAh battery with support for blazing fast 120W wired or 50W wireless charging.

In wired mode, the phone can be fully charged in only 15 minutes; 28 minutes for wireless charging.

At the moment, the Xiaomi Mix 4 is only available in China with a 4,999 Chinese yuan (about RM3,265) starting price for the 128GB model with 8GB of RAM. The range-topping 512GB configuration with 12GB of RAM, on the other hand, retails at 6,299 yuan (approximately RM4,115).
