Initially announced yesterday, those who are over the age of 60 will will be able to receive their COVID-19 vaccinations by simply walking into any PPV. However, this is only limited to those who are in the Klang Valley area.
This was revealed by Khairy Jamaluddin, the coordinating minister for the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme. In order to be eligible for the walk-in COVID-19 vaccination, those over the age of 60 must not have an appointment yet in the MySejahtera app.
However, those in this age group who have already received an appointment are advised to follow it instead. Khairy added that appointments that have already been given out will be dated before 1 August 2021 as well.
Aside from that, Khairy also announced “Operation Surge Capacity,” which aims to vaccinate all adult residents in KL and Selangor with their first doses by 1st August. This will begin from 26 July onwards in the two states.
To reach that capacity, over 272,000 COVID-19 vaccinations need to be administered every day from 26 July to 1 August in KL and Selangor. To check if you’ve received an appointment, check your vaccination page regularly in the MySejahtera app.
