This is it, our first look at the production unit of the upcoming 2022 Honda Civic. The 11th generation model pretty much retains most of the styling cues of the prototype, which was unveiled back in November last year. Compared to the design of the current 10th generation Civic FC, the new sedan does look more mature.

Just like the Civic Prototype, the production unit of the 2022 Civic has a longer hood “for a more premium side view,” as Honda puts it. On top of that, the A-pillars have been pushed back as well. The Japanese carmaker explained that this is done to improve driver visibility, which is the very same reason why the side mirrors are now mounted on the doors.

Aside from that, the headlights of the 2022 Civic are slimmer than the current generation model. This, and the fact that the chrome (or piano black) grille is no longer here either, give the C-segment sedan a more mature-looking design. If you’re not a fan of the Civic FC’s aggressive-styling, the 2022 model could be for you.

Unfortunately, the rear design and interior of the new Civic have not been detailed yet. But based on previous leaks, the L-shaped LED taillights from the prototype are brought over to the production unit. As for the interior – which has only been revealed in a sketch so far – expect a floating infotainment screen; the centre armrest is no longer partly exposed either.

Anyway, we will get more details on the 2022 Honda Civic come 28 April 2021. According to the carmaker, the new Civic’s specifications will also be revealed then.
