Samsung Malaysia just announced the local availability of its new mid-range Android tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. What makes this tablet particularly interesting is the fact that it supports the Korean company’s signature S Pen. On top of that, it’s not an exorbitantly priced tablet either.
For the Malaysian market, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite retails at RM1,699. For that kind of money, you’re getting 64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM. Not very generous capacities, but should be enough for most consumers. Two colours of the tablet are offered in our market: Oxford Grey and Angora Blue.
To sweeten the deal, Samsung is running a launch promo for the Tab S6 Lite. Those who purchase the new tablet now will also receive the Tab S6 Lite Keyboard Cover worth RM409. Given the tablet’s focus on productivity, this is really quite an essential accessory.

As mentioned, one of the best features of the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is its S Pen support. Unlike the S Pen offered with other Samsung products, the stylus has been redesigned for this tablet. Not only does it weigh only 7.03g, it also has improved pen latency and a 0.7mm pen tip. According to Samsung, this gives the S Pen “greater precision for note-taking and drawing.”
Unfortunately, while the Tab S6 Lite doesn’t have a dedicated slot to store the S Pen – a feature we’re very fond of with the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 – the redesigned stylus does snap on magnetically to the right side of the tablet. It’s not super secure or practical to store the S Pen this way, but there is a separate casing for the tablet with a dedicated compartment for the stylus.
Aside from the S Pen, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is a reasonably well-equipped mid-range tablet. It’s powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 9611 chipset, the same SoC found in the Galaxy A50s mid-range smartphone. It’s not a very powerful processor, but it should be able to deliver a pleasant user experience.
Other specifications of the Tab S6 Lite include a 10.4-inch 2000 x 1200 TFT LCD display with relatively thin bezels surrounding it, a microSD card slot for futher storage expansion, an 8MP f/1.9 rear camera, a 5MP f/2.0 selfie camera, a 7,040mAh battery, and One UI 2 based on Android 10 out of the box.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is now available for purchase in Malaysia for RM1,699. It’s not a particularly affordable product, but given its feature set and inclusion of the S Pen, it could be the ideal tablet for those who need a relatively compact device with stylus support. Plus, those who purchase the Tab S6 Lite now will also receive the Keyboard Cover worth RM409.
