Didn’t manage to book the 2020 Honda City to be eligible for the RM2,000 discount? Well, good news: Honda Malaysia announced that the promotion has now been extended to 31 December. Any customer that placed a booking and registered their City by the end of the year will get the RM2,000 rebate.
Of course, just like the previous promotion, this RM2,000 discount is only applicable to the S and E variants of the new City. The V trim, which is the range-topping petrol model, is not part of the promotion. Neither is the top-of-the-line RS e:HEV variant, which is only set to be available in Malaysia sometime in January next month.
On top of that, the Japanese company also revealed that close to 5,800 units of the City have already been delivered to customers. The number of bookings have also grown to 11,100, though Honda Malaysia did not reveal the variant breakdown. “We endeavour to continue to work hard to meet customer demand and deliver the cars to all customers in a timely manner,” said the managing director and CEO of Honda Malaysia, Toichi Ishiyama.
Anyway, under the hood of the S, E, and V variants of the City is the same 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC engine that outputs 121PS and 145Nm of torque. It is paired to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with drive sent to the front wheels. The V model gets 16-inch alloy wheels, while the more affordable S and E trims get 15-inch alloys.
Honda City Variant | Price with sales tax exemption | Price without sales tax exemption | Price difference |
S | RM74,191.27 | RM76,800 | RM2,608.73 |
E | RM81,664.82 | RM84,800 | RM3,135.18 |
V | RM86,561.45 | RM89,800 | RM3,238.55 |
You can now head to your nearest Honda dealership to place a booking for the 2020 Honda City; those who book the S or E variant and register their vehicle by 31 December 2020 will also receive a RM2,000 rebate. Of course, the 100% sales tax exemption will be included as well – the prices before and after tax are shown in the table above.
