OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition & Standard OnePlus 7T Malaysian Pricing Revealed; Starts at RM2,599
October 31, 2019 Andrew Cheng

The Malaysian pricing of the OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition and standard OnePlus 7T have just been announced. Surprisingly enough, these two smartphones offer reasonably good value for money, especially the OnePlus 7T, which is set to go for only RM2,599.

For that kind of money, you’re getting the 128GB variant of the OnePlus 7T with 8GB of RAM, which is…reasonably good value for money, given the feature set of the smartphone. The McLaren Edition of the OnePlus 7T Pro, on the other hand, is priced at RM3,899 for the 256GB model with 12GB of RAM.

While RM3,899 doesn’t make the OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition particularly affordable, it’s not an exorbitant asking price, which is usually the case for limited edition smartphones. Plus, the McLaren Edition is actually priced lower than the previous OnePlus 7 Pro: the 256GB variant (also with 12GB of RAM) retailed at RM4,199 when it was launched here.

Anyway, if you want the best value for money, the OnePlus 7T is definitely the better option. For RM2,599, the 7T features a fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset. Compared to the regular Snapdragon 855 SoC, the 855+’s overclocked CPU and GPU promises up to 15% better performance.

Besides that, the OnePlus 7T also has a 6.55-inch 2400 x 1080 Fluid AMOLED display with a high 90Hz refresh rate, though it has a notch at the top of the screen. Other specifications of the flagship include a triple camera system (48MP f/1.6 primary + 16MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle + 12MP f/2.2 telephoto), a 16MP f/2.0 selfie camera, an in-screen fingerprint sensor, and a 3,800mAh battery.

As for the McLaren Edition, it has the same hardware as the regular OnePlus 7T Pro. These include a 90Hz 6.67-inch 3120 x 1440 Fluid AMOLED display with an all-screen design – thanks to the use of a 16MP f/2.0 motorised pop-up camera – a Snapdragon 855+ chipset, an in-screen fingerprint sensor, and a 4,085mAh battery.

On the back, this limited edition device features a triple camera system made up of a 48MP f/1.6 primary shooter, a 16MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle sensor, and an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto lens.

The OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition and OnePlus 7T are now available for pre-order in Malaysia. The latter will ship from 4 November onwards, while the McLaren Edition will be delivered the next day on 5 November.
