June 19, 2024 Andrew Cheng

Bookings for the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro were opened back in March, and it looks like the Chinese carmaker is finally ready to launch the C-segment SUV in Malaysia this Friday on 21 June. Set to be priced under RM130,000 and locally assembled here, the Proton X70 rival has plenty of features to offer for the money.

Only one variant of the Tiggo 7 Pro is expected to be launched in Malaysia. Under its hood is a 1.6L turbo engine that outputs 197PS and 290Nm of torque with drive sent to the front wheels via a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. This allows the SUV to sprint from 0-100kmph in 9.5 seconds, and it also has a top speed of 205kmph. As for fuel consumption, the official figure is 7L per 100km.

Other specifications of the Tiggo 7 Pro include seven airbags, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane centering assist, autonomous emergency braking, as well as two 12.3-inch displays for the instrument cluster and infotainment system, which also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

To recap, the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro is set to be launched in Malaysia on 21 June this Friday for under RM130,000. Bookings for the C-segment SUV have also been opened locally, and you can register your interest on Chery Malaysia’s official website.
