If you’re having trouble connecting to WhatsApp, you’re not alone. It appears the messaging service is not available at the moment, as reported by various users – ourselves included.
It remains to be seen what is causing the service outage. At the time of writing, WhatsApp has not issued any statement regarding the issue. Nonetheless, we’ll be sure to update this space once we know more – or when the messaging service is up and running again.
Update 25 October, 4:50PM: WhatsApp is back! After about two hours of outage, the messaging service is accessible once again, though some users are still experiencing some issues. There is still no statement from WhatsApp on what caused the outage, curiously.
