This is a bit of a surprise: Xiaomi just confirmed that its new 34-inch Mi Curved Gaming Monitor is coming to Malaysia on 24 August. Sporting a wide aspect ratio, curved display, and a high 144Hz refresh rate at an affordable price point, this is one interesting monitor.
Xiaomi Malaysia revealed the Malaysian availability of the Mi Curved Gaming Monitor on its Facebook page. Also shown alongside the monitor is the Mi Portable Photo Printer, though the company didn’t reveal the local pricing of either products for our market.
Regardless, we can take the retail price of the Mi Curved Gaming Monitor in other markets to get an idea on how much it might cost here. In Europe, the monitor goes for €399, which comes up to about RM1,970. Do note that the European pricing of the monitor includes VAT, so it’s entirely possible it will be priced lower in Malaysia.
As mentioned, what makes the Mi Curved Gaming Monitor particularly interesting is the sheer value for money it offers. It has a wide 34-inch 3440 x 1440 VA panel – that’s a 21:9 aspect ratio – with a 144Hz refresh rate, 1500R curvature, 121% sRGB colour coverage, and AMD FreeSync Premium support. Basically, a pretty darn good monitor for gaming purposes with a wide, curved display.
The Xiaomi Mi Curved Gaming Monitor and Mi Portable Photo Printer will be available for purchase in Malaysia from 24 August onwards. We’ll find out then exactly how much they cost locally.
