We reported a couple of weeks ago that Xiaomi registered the Mi TV Q1 smart TV with SIRIM a couple of weeks ago, and now, the Chinese company just confirmed that it will be launching the TV here in Malaysia on 20 May. On top of that, the more affordable Mi TV P1 will be arriving here too.
Let’s start with the more exciting smart TV of the two, the Mi TV Q1. It has an expansive 75-inch 3840 x 2160 QLED panel with a fast 120Hz refresh rate. Aside from the high refresh rate, the QLED panel also meets 100% NTSC and 95% DCI-P3 colour standards.
The almost bezel-less design – though there is a small bottom chin – gives the smart TV a very sleek, modern-looking design as well.
Beyond that, the Mi TV Q1 runs on Android TV 10 out of the box too, which allows you to download a slew of apps and the ability to cast content to the TV from your mobile device. As for connectivity, it includes a HDMI 2.1 eARC/ALLM input, two HDMI 2.0 port, two USB 2.0 connections, Bluetooth 5.0, and WiFi 2.4GHz/5GHz.
As for the more affordable Mi TV P1, the Malaysian market is confirmed to be getting the 55-inch model so far. Given its more budget-friendly positioning, this 4K TV features a more conventional LED panel, though it still meets the HDR10+ standard. Of course, the Mi TV P1 runs on Android TV as well.
The Xiaomi Mi TV Q1 and Mi TV P1 will be launching here in Malaysia on 20 May. It’ll be interesting to see how much these two smart TVs will cost in our local market.
