Aside from the Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 9 Pro, Xiaomi also introduced a brand new smartphone under a separate series: the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite. Like its name suggests, it shares quite a bit of hardware as the other two Mi Note 10 smartphones, though it does remove some features to bring the price down.
What differentiates the Mi Note 10 Lite from its higher-end siblings is the camera system, and…that’s it. Instead of a penta camera system, this Lite model has a more pedestrian quad camera configuration. It is made up of a 64MP primary shooter, an 8MP ultra-wide angle sensor, a 5MP depth camera, and a 2MP macro lens.
Unfortunately, the Mi Note 10 Lite does not offer any form of telephoto sensor. Besides that, the selfie camera has also been swapped for a 16MP shooter.
Beyond these differences in the camera configuration of the Mi Note 10 Lite, it is practically identical to the other two Mi Note 10 smartphones. For one, it’s still packing a 6.47-inch 1080p AMOLED screen with a notch at the top. The panel itself curves at either sides as well, giving the phone a sleek and premium aesthetic.
Of course, the Mi Note 10 Lite is also powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset. It’s not an awfully powerful processor, but it should be fast enough to provide a good user experience. After all, the Snapdragon 7 series chips are no slouch, and it’s worth noting that the 730G is built on a power-efficient 8nm process.
This power efficiency should translate to good battery life, and the Mi Note 10 Lite should be able to ace it in this particular aspect. After all, it features a huge 5,260mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging. Xiaomi also claims that this phone can deliver “more than two days of battery life.”
Other specifications of the Mi Note 10 Lite include 6GB of RAM, 64GB or 128GB of internal storage – there’s no microSD card slot, so you’ll have to make do with the provided storage – an in-screen fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and MIUI 11 based on Android 10 out of the box.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite will be available in Malaysia sometime in the middle of May this month. Local pricing has not been revealed yet, though it’s set to go for €349 (~RM1,640) and €399 (~RM1,875) for the 64GB and 128GB models respectively in European markets. Do note that these prices include VAT, so expect the Mi Note 10 Lite to be more affordable once it reaches our shores.
