Volvo Car Malaysia (VCM) just unveiled its latest electric SUV on our shores, the Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric. Unlike other Volvo models sold locally, the C40 is only offered with an electric powertrain, and it is also locally assembled (CKD) right here in Malaysia.
This is a luxury EV, so it’s no surprise that the C40 Recharge carries a premium price tag. It’s priced at RM288,888 on-the-road without insurance, and it comes with a five-year vehicle warranty as well as an eight-year battery warranty or 160,000km – whichever comes first.
For that kind of money, the C40 Recharge offers up to 450km of range on a single charge from its 78kWh battery. It also has a dual-motor setup that offers 408PS and 660Nm of torque. With a 0-100kmph time of only 4.7 seconds, this is without a doubt a fast EV.
Speaking of fast, the C40 Recharge can be charged from 10% to 80% in only 28 minutes via a 150kW DC fast charger; 68 minutes with a 50kW DC charger. As for an AC home charger, it will take between 8 to 12 hours to get from 0% to 100% with a 11kW or 7.4kW charger respectively.
The Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric will be available for booking online right here later tonight at 8PM. Five colour options are offered: Fjord Blue, Crystal White, Black Stone, Silver Dawn, and Sage Green.
