Vivo V19 Set to Launch in Malaysia on 23 April

Vivo just confirmed that its latest mid-range smartphone, the Vivo V19, will be landing in Malaysia later this week on 23 April. Featuring a quad camera system, a reasonably sleek design, and 33W fast charging, the V19 is quite an interesting smartphone.

Naturally, the V19 comes with a number of notable upgrades over its predecessor, the V17. For one, it’s powered by a faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 chipset; the V17 only had a Snapdragon 675 SoC. Paired with 8GB of RAM, the V19 should be able to offer a good level of performance.

As for the phone’s quad camera system, it is made up of a 48MP f/1.79 primary shooter, an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle sensor, a 2MP f/2.4 depth camera, and a 2MP f/2.4 macro lens. It would’ve been nice if it offered a telephoto sensor as well, but it’s typically not offered in this segment.

Vivo smartphones have always focused on delivering good selfie cameras, and the V19 is no different. Positioned on the top right of the phone’s screen in a hole-punch cutout, there are two front-facing cameras: a 32MP f/2.08 main shooter, and an 8MP f/2.28 super-wide angle shooter. Thanks to this camera configuration, you can take both regular selfies and a wide-angle shot for group selfies.

The display itself, on the other hand, is a 6.44-inch 2400 x 1080 Super AMOLED screen. This being an OLED panel, you can expect to get vibrant, punchy colours, along with wide viewing angles. On top of that, this screen should offer very deep blacks as well, which would make content consumption that much more enjoyable.

When it comes to battery life, the V19 features a 4,500mAh battery. It’s a generous battery capacity, which should be able to return respectable battery life. It also supports 33W Vivo FlashCharge 2.0 technology; Vivo claims that the battery can be charged up to 54% from completely empty in 30 minutes.

Other specifications of the V19 include 128GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot if you need even more space, an in-screen fingerprint sensor, and FunTouch OS based on Android 10 out of the box.

The Vivo V19 will be launched in Malaysia this Thursday on 23 April via an online live stream on Vivo Malaysia’s Facebook page. It’s set to take place at 6PM, and those who watch the online launch event also stand a chance to win one of three units of the V19.
