Vivo V19 Finally Official With Quad Camera & 33W Fast Charging

The Vivo V19 has been teased many, many times over the past few months, and it’s finally official now. Sporting a quad camera system, a hole-punch design, and fast 33W fast charging, this is quite a good mid-range smartphone that’s also rather sleek-looking.

Compared to its predecessor, the V19 brings a number of upgrades. For one, it is now powered by a faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 chipset. Paired with 8GB of RAM, you should get a reasonably good level of performance with this smartphone.

Besides that, the V19 also features a 6.44-inch 2400 x 1080 Super AMOLED display. Given the inherent properties of OLED panels, you can expect to get deep, dark blacks, vibrant colours, and good viewing angles. Oh, there’s also an oblong-shaped hole-punch cutout on the top right of the screen for the two selfie cameras.

That’s right, the V19 now comes with two front-facing cameras. The primary sensor is a 32MP f/2.08 unit, which is complimented by an 8MP f/2.28 super-wide angle shooter. This camera combination gives you the flexibility to take both regular selfies and a wide-angle shot for group selfies.

On the back, the V19 sports a quad camera system. It’s made up of a 48MP f/1.79 main shooter, an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle lens, a 2MP f/2.4 depth camera, and a 2MP f/2.4 macro lens. There’s no telephoto sensor offered here, which isn’t exactly a surprise – mid-range smartphones usually omit the zoom lens.

And then there’s the fast charging capability of the V19. According to the phone maker, the 33W Vivo FlashCharge 2.0 technology can charge up the device’s 4,500mAh to 54% from completely empty in 30 minutes. That’s a reasonably fast charging rate, and the 4,500mAh battery should be able to return above average battery life.

Other specifications of the V19 include 128GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, an in-screen fingerprint sensor, and FunTouch OS based on Android 10 out of the box.

The Vivo V19 will be coming to Malaysia soon, though it remains to be seen exactly when this will happen or how much the phone would cost locally. Based on the V19’s product page on Vivo Malaysia’s website, it will be offered in two colours here: Sleek Silver – which seems to have a blue shade – and the more conventional-looking Gleam Black.
