Vivo is the latest phone brand to enter the foldable market with the Vivo X Fold. Sporting flagship-level hardware with a rather competitive price tag, the X Fold looks quite compelling, even though it’s only available in China at the moment.
Let’s start with the pricing of the X Fold. Available in two variants, the 256GB model costs 8,999 Chinese yuan (about RM5,980). The more generous 512GB variant, on the other hand, goes for 9,999 yuan (approximately RM6,645). Both configurations come with 12GB of RAM.

For that kind of money, the X Fold features an 8.03-inch foldable AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate; Vivo said the screen can be folded over 300,000 times without issues. On top of that, the screen folds flat too, so you won’t have to worry about dirt getting caught in between the two halves of the phone.
Other specifications of the X Fold include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, a 120Hz 6.53-inch AMOLED cover screen, a quad camera system (50MP primary + 48MP ultra-wide angle + 12MP 2x telephoto + 8MP 5x periscope telephoto), 16MP selfie cameras (on the cover and foldable displays), as well as a 4,600mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging (50W wirelessly).

As mentioned, the Vivo X Fold has only been launched in China. It remains to be seen if the flagship foldable phone will also be available in other markets.
