The Asus ROG Strix Scope II 96 Wireless Has Some Smooth Switches, And It’s Coming to Malaysia

While we were at Computex 2023, we managed to drop by Asus’ booth for the Asus ROG Strix Scope II 96 Wireless keyboard; yes, it’s a mouthful. Nonetheless, we tried out the keyboard briefly at the trade show, and we’re quite impressed with the overall refinement of the Strix Scope II.

More specifically, we were surprised by the performance of the new ROG NX Snow linear switch. Pre-lubed out of the box, it feels very smooth with a reasonably pleasant sound profile. The box design of the stem minimises wobble too, which provides a more stable typing experience.

As for the Strix Scope II itself, it has a number of interesting features. These include wireless connectivity (naturally) via Bluetooth or the 2.4GHz ROG SpeedNova dongle, a hotswap PCB, a scroll wheel, an 1800 layout – or a 96% layout, as described by Asus – and a number of sound-dampening foams.

We were told that the Asus ROG Strix Scope II 96 Wireless will be made available in Malaysia, though no specific timeline was given. Nonetheless, if priced this, this wireless keyboard could be worth considering for the smooth, smooth ROG NX Snow linear switch.

In fact, I wouldn’t mind purchasing the switch on its own if Asus ever decides to do so.
