The Acer Predator Triton 300 SE Is a 14″ Gaming Laptop With RTX 3060 GPU & 11th Gen Intel H-Series Chip

Acer just took the wraps off arguably its most exciting gaming laptop to date. Enter the Acer Predator Triton 300 SE: a compact, premium gaming laptop in a 14-inch form factor. This is one of its best selling points, given that its only other competition is the similarly sized Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 gaming laptop.

Compared to 2020 gaming laptops, the Predator Triton 300 SE is seemingly a more powerful gaming machine, thanks to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 GPU under the hood. That’s right, it is packing Nvidia’s brand new Ampere graphics cards for laptops. In the case of the RTX 3060, it promises up to 1.3x better performance than the PlayStation 5.

Aside from that, the Triton 300 SE also features Intel’s just-announced 11th generation H-series chip; the highest-end configuration is powered by a Core i7-11375H processor that offers a whopping 5GHz peak clock speed. While this sounds impressive, it’ll be interesting to see how it would compare to AMD’s latest Ryzen 5000 mobile CPU once we have them in for review.

Other hardware of the Predator Triton 300 SE include a fast 14-inch 1920 x 1080 IPS screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, a 1.7kg chassis that measures only 17.9mm thin – it’s definitely a thin and light gaming laptop – and up to 10 hours of battery life. As for RAM and storage capacities, Acer will reveal these specifications in the near future.

The Acer Predator Triton 300 SE will start shipping sometime in February next month with a $1,400 starting price (about RM5,675). Malaysian availability of this compact gaming laptop has not been revealed yet, but we did manage to spend a brief time with the Triton 300 SE. Our hands-on is coming very soon!
