Late last month, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced that temperature checks will no longer be a part of COVID-19 SOP, though the decision has to be brought forward to the National Security Council (MKN) first. Well, it’s now official: temperature checks are not necessary anymore from 11 February 2022.
This was confirmed by defence minister Hishammuddin Hussein on a Twitter post. According to him, log books for visitors to register themselves will no longer be required either. This will go into effect on the same day (11 February).
Of course, it’s still mandatory to check in to premises with the MySejahtera app. Previously, folks who don’t pass the temperature check won’t be allowed to enter the premise. But given the high vaccination rate in Malaysia now – so there’s less chance of transmission – it’s likely the SOP is revised to reflect this.
