Sony Malaysia just opened pre-orders for its latest flagship smartphone, the Sony Xperia Pro-I. If you want a high-end phone with very promising camera performance, the Xperia Pro-I may tickle your fancy.
First spotted by Amanz, as many as three different bundles are offered for the Xperia Pro-I: there’s the phone itself for RM7,199, a vlog monitor bundle for RM7,718, and the “Complete Creator’s Kit” bundle, which includes the vlog monitor, shooting grip, and lavalier microphone for RM8,028.
Anyway, Sony is not just positioning the Xperia Pro-I as a smartphone: it’s also touted as “an exciting addition to Sony’s camera line-up” by the Japanese company, given that its 12MP primary camera is packed with a 1.0-type Exmor RS sensor. This is similar to the sensor found in Sony’s well-loved RX100 VII camera.
Beyond the impressive 12MP primary shooter, the Xperia Pro-I is…basically based on the Xperia 1 III, though it doesn’t get the variable telephoto lens. Instead, it features a 12MP telephoto lens with a 50mm focal length and a 12MP ultra-wide angle shooter.
Other specifications of the Xperia Pro-I include a sharp and vibrant 120Hz 6.5-inch 4K OLED screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset paired with 12GB of RAM, 512GB of expandable storage, an 8MP selfie camera, a 4,500mAh battery, and an IP65/IP68 rating.
The Sony Xperia Pro-I is now available for pre-order in Malaysia until 15 December 2021. Every pre-order of any three bundles will also be offered with a complimentary 256GB microSD card.
