The Sony Xperia 1 V is now available for purchase in Malaysia. As the Japanese company’s latest flagship smartphone, it features some high-end hardware, including a camera system with a next-gen sensor, allowing it to take low light images “never thought possible on a smartphone,” as Sony puts it.
For the Malaysian market, the Xperia 1 V is offered in the sole 12GB + 256GB variant, which is priced at a cool RM6,399. Those who purchase the phone by 31 July will also get the popular WH-1000XM5 wireless headphones (worth RM1,799) for free.

A triple camera system is on the back of the Xperia 1 V, which is made up of a 52MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide angle shooter, and a 12MP telephoto lens. According to Sony, the new 52MP shooter allows the phone to capture “2x better” low light shots than last year’s Xperia 1 IV. We tested out the camera for a brief period of time, and it does feel quite capable.
Other specifications of the Xperia 1 V include a 6.5-inch 4K HDR OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, a microSD card slot for further storage expansion, a 12MP selfie camera, a 5,000mAh battery, as well as IP65/68 water and dust resistance.

The Sony Xperia 1 V is now available for purchase in Malaysia for RM6,399. As mentioned, early birds who get the phone by 31 July will also get a free WH-1000XM5 wireless headphones.
