Shopee 10.10 Brands Festival Celebrates Malaysian-Made Products

Shopee is partnering with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (MDTCA) for its 10.10 Brands Festival campaign to bolster the sales of Malaysian-made products on the e-commerce platform. According to Shopee, the Buy Malaysian campaign aims to help local entrepreneurs to grow their businesses.

The company will carry out a number of initiatives to help these local businesses. One of them is to highlight Malaysian-made products on Shopee: a dedicated “Buy Malaysia” category will be added to the e-commerce platform. This will boost visibility and make it easier for shoppers to find local products.

Of course, the Buy Malaysian campaign doesn’t just end with Shopee’s 10.10 Brands Festival. The company elaborated that the campaign will still be emphasised in the next two sale events, which are 11.11 and 12.12. The surge in traffic from these two campaigns will definitely benefit local businesses, Shopee added.

Interestingly, Shopee is also making it easier for Malaysian businesses to export their products internationally. This is dubbed Shopee International Platform (SIP), an initiative that offers “logistical, payments, and customer service arrangements” to local sellers free of charge.

The aim of SIP is to help those who want to expand to international market, but don’t have the means to do so because of operational difficulties. At the moment, SIP is only limited to Singapore, though Shopee did say it plans to add more countries to the list in the future.

As with all of Shopee’s sale campaigns, there are a number of interesting deals offered for the 10.10 Brands Festival. The minimum spend to be eligible for free shipping, for one, is reduced to only RM10 throughout the campaign period. If you’re a bargain hunter, keep your eyes peeled for the RM10 deals – these are posted on a daily basis.

Naturally, there are different “themes” for each day leading up to the 10.10 Brands Festival. For example, 8 October is the Home Brands Sale, which – as its name suggests – focuses on household items. Different vouchers will also be offered every day; you can get either get discounts or cashbacks in the form of Shopee Coins with these vouchers.

The Shopee 10.10 Brands Festival campaign is going on right now, and it will end on 11 October 2019. If you want to learn more about it, including the full breakdown of the calendar for the sale event, just click right here.
