We just got word that Setel Lite, a simplified version of the regular Setel app, will be released to the public by the end of April 2023 this month. We reviewed the Setel Lite app ahead of its launch, and while it’s not as feature-rich as the full app, it does provide a fuss-free refuelling experience.
The interface of Setel Lite is much less “cluttered” than the standard Setel app. There are no additional features shown on the home screen except for the purchase fuel button. This, in turn, also means it’s a less demanding app to run, so it should be able to offer a pleasant user experience even on older or less powerful phones.
Of course, given its more minimalist, lighter nature, the Setel Lite app also has its limitations in comparison to the full app. The payment method, for one, is only limited to Setel Wallet or Family Wallet. In contrast, the regular Setel app allows users to add their credit or debit cards to make payments. Wallet upgrade – which increases the balance limit from RM500 to RM5,000 – can only be done through the full Setel app too.
Nonetheless, Setel Lite is still great for folks that just want to refuel their vehicles quickly without the fuss. To recap, the app will be released to the public by the end of April 2023 this month. At the moment, Setel Lite is only set to be available on Android devices through the Google Play Store and Huawei AppGallery.
No word yet on Setel Lite’s availability on iOS, though we reckon it will arrive on the platform sooner or later.
