Samsung just scheduled yet another Unpacked event. Set to take place next week on 23 September, it’s said to be a “Galaxy Unpacked for Every Fan.” Chance are, this is referencing the rumoured Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition, which is believed to be a more affordable alternative to the main Galaxy S20 phones.
Given its more budget-friendly positioning, it’s no surprise that early leaks are suggesting the Galaxy S20 FE wouldn’t be quite as impressive as its higher-end siblings. Leaked renders of the phone, for example, show a more pedestrian-looking device with a flat screen and slightly bigger bezels.
But surprisingly enough, the Galaxy S20 FE will supposedly retain quite a bit of the regular S20’s hardware. For one, it’s tipped to come with a fast 120Hz screen, not to mention the same chipset as the rest of the S20 smartphones. It’ll be interesting to see how the upcoming phone will differ in other aspects.
Looking back at the teaser for the Galaxy Unpacked event, it’s likely that the Korean company is also teasing the colour option of the Galaxy S20 FE in the image. More specifically, the dark blue and mint green colourways of the phone, which had already been leaked. Besides these two colours, the S20 FE is said to be available in red and pink as well.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition is expected to be unveiled next week on 23 September at 10PM Malaysian time. You can catch the Unpacked live stream – and register your interest for the phone – right here.
