Aside from the Galaxy Z Flip 3, Samsung Malaysia also revealed the local pricing of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. Set to retail from only RM6,699 here in Malaysia, it is quite a bit more affordable than its predecessor, which went for RM7,999 at launch.
Just like the Z Flip 3, two variants of the Z Fold 3 are offered on our shores. The base 256GB variant with 12GB of RAM costs RM6,699, while the 512GB model with the same amount of RAM goes for RM7,099. The latter configuration is actually cheaper than the leaked pricing on Digi’s website.
While these prices are still unmistakably steep, it’s worth noting that the Z Fold 3 is more affordable here than in the US, where it retails from $1,799 (about RM7,620). For that kind of money, you’re getting an eye-catching foldable phone, complete with a 4MP under display camera.
This allows the Galaxy Z Fold 3’s large 7.6-inch 2208 x 1768 Dynamic AMOLED 2X primary screen – with a fast 120Hz refresh rate – to not have any cutout at all for the selfie camera. On top of that, the phone’s 6.2-inch 2268 x 832 cover screen is now locked at 120Hz too.
Rounding out the hardware of the Z Fold 3 are Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 flagship chipset, a triple camera system (12MP primary + 12MP ultra-wide angle + 12MP telephoto), a 10MP cover camera, a 4,400mAh battery, S Pen support, and of course, IPX8 water resistance rating.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be available for pre-order in Malaysia from 19 August to 21 September 2021. Those who pre-order this foldable phone will also receive a generous RM850 e-voucher to be used on Samsung Malaysia’s online store, along with a one-year Samsung Care+ plan worth RM799.
