Realme X7 & X7 Pro Official: 120Hz Screen, 65W Charging, 5G Support

Realme just unveiled two new smartphones in China, the Realme X7 and X7 Pro. Not only are they pretty affordable devices, both of them also come with a number of interesting features, including 5G connectivity and support for 65W fast charging.

Out of the two, the Realme X7 Pro is naturally the more exciting smartphone. It’s powered by MediaTek’s best chip to date, the Dimensity 1000+ chipset, which gives the device 5G connectivity. In fact, it’s the very same processor found under the hood of the X7 Pro’s main competitor, the Redmi K30 Ultra.

Another hardware where the X7 Pro equally matches the K30 Ultra is in the display department. Just like the latter, Realme’s new phone comes with a 6.55-inch 2400 x 1080 AMOLED screen with a fast 120Hz refresh rate. On top of that, it also has a 240Hz touch sampling rate; this reduces any form of input lag to a minimum.

As mentioned, the X7 Pro supports 65W fast charging. According to Realme, this allows the 4,500mAh battery of the X7 Pro to be fully charged in only 35 minutes. The Chinese company mentioned that users can even use the phone while charging without the device heating up too much.

Other specifications of the X7 Pro include a quad camera system (64MP f/1.8 primary + 8MP f/2.25 ultra-wide angle + 2MP macro + 2MP portrait), a 32MP front-facing camera, either 6GB or 8GB of RAM, two storage options (128GB and 256GB), as well as Realme UI based on Android 10 out of the box.

As for the more affordable Realme X7, it sports a more pedestrian list of hardware. These include a more conventional 6.4-inch 1080p AMOLED screen with a 60Hz refresh rate, up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, a slightly different quad camera array (64MP f/1.8 main + 8MP f/2.3 ultra-wide angle + 2MP f/2.4 monochrome + 2MP f/2.4 macro), and a 32MP f/2.5 selfie camera.

Fortunately, the X7 still supports 5G networks, thanks to its Dimensity 800U chip. Besides that, the 65W fast charging is retained as well, though the phone’s battery capacity is slightly smaller at 4,300mAh.

The Realme X7 and X7 Pro are now available for pre-order in China. The X7 retails from 1,799 Chinese yuan (about RM1,090), while the X7 Pro starts at 2,199 yuan (approximately RM1,335). Naturally, it remains to be seen if the Realme X7 series will be offered in Malaysia.
