Surprise surprise, Realme is entering the smart TV market in Malaysia. The aptly named – if not particularly imaginative – Realme Smart TV is offered in two sizes, and given its rather affordable price point, it is ideal for those who are on a tight budget.
Let’s start with the most affordable 32-inch Realme Smart TV, which retails at only RM899 in Malaysia. It’s a decent price tag for a TV running on Android TV – not to mention the fact that it’s powered by a MediaTek chip – though as with most 32-inch TVs, this model only features a 1366 x 768 display.
And then there’s the 43-inch Realme Smart TV. Naturally, it’s better equipped than the aforementioned model, given its bigger size and price tag (RM1,499). For that kind of money, you’re getting a 43-inch 1920 x 1080 panel with the same Android TV operating system.
One of the major selling points of the Realme Smart TV has to be its proprietary “Chroma Boost Picture Engine” technology. According to Realme, this tech uses “advanced algorithms to enhance overall picture quality and improve brightness, colour, contrast, and clarity.” The panel itself is said to have a peak brightness of 400 nits as well.
To recap, the Realme Smart TV retails at RM899 and RM1,499 in Malaysia for the 32-inch and 43-inch models respectively. Even though the local pricing has been revealed, it still remains to be seen exactly when the smart TV will be available on our shores.
