Proton Flood Relief – Now 50% Discount on Parts, 25% Off Labour

Proton initially announced its flood relief programme last week, and interestingly enough, the national carmaker just made some changes to it. Previously, a 20% discount is given for selected parts, but it is now increased to a whopping 50% – that’s quite a big difference.

However, the 50% discount is not offered for the Proton X50 and X70. For these two SUVs, a 25% discount is given instead for selected parts; a 5% increase over the original offer. Labour charges are also discounted by 25% now instead of 20%.

“Proton is deeply sympathetic to the plight of the victims of the recent floods as many of them consist of B40 households. To date, our service centres have received approximately 600 cars and we estimate there to be many more that will arrive in the coming days and weeks,” said the CEO of Proton Edar, Roslan Abdullah.

“Aside from the assistance package, Proton is also negotiating with the banks to allow customers to pay for their repairs via instalment using their credit cards. This will further assist their cash flow as they will neither be charged interest fees nor have to come up with a lump sum payment,” he added.
