Here it is: the Perodua Ativa compact SUV in all its glory. Packed with level 2 autonomous driving, a fuel-efficient 1.0L turbo engine, as well as a starting price of only RM61,500 – this is actually lower than the estimated pricing – the Ativa is quite a compelling new model from Perodua.
As previously revealed, three different variants of the Ativa are offered. The base X trim retails at RM61,500, while the higher-end H and AV models go for RM66,100 and RM71,200 respectively. As mentioned, these retail prices are lower than the estimated pricing given by Perodua, which is great.
Of course, the range-topping AV trim of the Ativa is the most exciting model; it is also the only variant to get level 2 autonomous driving. It’s equipped with Lane Keep Control, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Adaptive Cruise Control. The more affordable H and X models, on the other hand, come with AEB, which is actually standard equipment across the range.
Regardless of which variant you go for, all three models of the Ativa are equipped with the same 1.0L turbocharged three-cylinder engine that outputs 98PS and 140Nm of torque. Paired with a CVT gearbox, the Ativa has an impressive rated fuel efficiency of 18.9km/l. It’ll be interesting to see if the SUV can actually deliver this fuel economy in real life use.
To recap, the Perodua Ativa goes from RM61,500 to RM71,200; the top-of-the-line AV model is also available with a dual tone colourway (either red or white with a blacked-out roof), but that will cost an additional RM800. If you have already placed a booking, good news – Perodua said that deliveries of the Ativa will start from tomorrow onwards.
