Oppo just launched its brand new mid-range smartphone in Malaysia, the Oppo A92. Sporting a generously sized 5,000mAh battery, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset, and a quad camera system, the A92 is a reasonably good mid-ranger with a sleek design.
For the Malaysian market, the Oppo A92 is offered with 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM; only this sole variant is sold here for RM1,199. Pre-orders of the phone are open now, and two colour options are available: Shining White and Twilight Black.
For that kind of money, the A92 has a number of pretty nifty features, including a sizeable 5,000mAh battery. Thanks to this large capacity, the A92 should be able to return very respectable battery life. If you’re not a heavy smartphone user, we reckon it’s possible to get up to two days of use out of this phone. Besides that, there’s also support for 18W fast charging.
Powering the A92, on the other hand, is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset. Built on an 11nm process, it’s a reasonably power-efficient processor, even if it’s not a particularly new chip. Regardless, the Snapdragon 665 should be able to offer a good level of performance for day-to-day use.
Design wise, the A92 is quite a sleek-looking smartphone, thanks to its hole-punch design and gradient colourway of the Shining White. On top of that, it also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, which also doubles as the power button. It’s a neat design element that also makes it a more ergonomically-friendly device.
In the camera department, the A92 is packed with a quad camera system on the back. It’s made up of a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide angle shooter, a 2MP monochrome lens, and a 2MP portrait camera. Unfortunately, there’s no telephoto sensor here. On the front, it features a 16MP selfie shooter.
Other specifications of the A92 include a 6.5-inch 2400 x 1080 IPS display with a claimed 90.5% screen-to-body ratio, a microSD card slot for further storage expansion, stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and ColorOS 7.1 based on Android 10 out of the box.
The Oppo A92 is now available for pre-order in Malaysia; you can place your order with a RM100 deposit on Oppo’s online store. Those who pre-order the mid-range smartphone will also receive a complimentary Bluetooth speaker (worth RM199) and a year of extended warranty valued at RM99.
