As promised, the OnePlus 8T has just been launched in Malaysia. Sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset, a fast 120Hz screen, and a new quad camera system, it’s quite a decent flagship smartphone with a reasonably competitive price tag.
Two variants of the OnePlus 8T are offered in Malaysia. The base model with 128GB of non-expandable storage and 8GB of RAM retails at RM2,699, while the 256GB option with 12GB of RAM costs slightly more at RM2,999. The 128GB variant is only available in Lunar Silver, while the 256GB model is offered in the sole Aquamarine Green colourway.
As mentioned, the OnePlus 8T is a Snapdragon 865 smartphone, so it should be able to offer flagship-tier performance. On top of that, it also comes with a 6.55-inch 1080p Fluid AMOLED screen that’s sporting a high 120Hz refresh rate; an improvement over its predecessor’s 90Hz panel.
Other specifications of the OnePlus 8T include a quad camera system (48MP f/1.75 primary + 16MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle + 5MP macro + 2MP monochrome), a 16MP f/2.4 selfie camera, a 4,500mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging, and OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11 out of the box.
The OnePlus 8T will be available for purchase next week on 28 October at 12AM from Lazada. Alternatively, you can also get it from authorised retail stores from 31 October onwards. To recap, the OnePlus 8T retails at RM2,699 and RM2,999 for the 128GB + 8GB and 256GB + 12GB models respectively.
