OnePlus 8T Arriving in Malaysia 22 October

The OnePlus 8T was unveiled just last night, and we now know exactly when the new smartphone will be launched in Malaysia. Set to arrive on our shores next week on 22 October, the OnePlus 8T will be another option for those who want a flagship-tier phone.

OnePlus revealed the local launch of the OnePlus 8T on its social media pages. According to the Facebook post, the Malaysian launch will take place on 22 October at 12PM. Unfortunately, no word yet on exactly how much the flagship phone will cost here, though it’s probably safe to assume it will be priced close to the OnePlus 8, which retailed from RM2,899.

Compared to its predecessor, the OnePlus 8T comes with several notable improvements. Not only does it come with a faster 120Hz 6.55-inch 1080p AMOLED screen now, it features a quad camera system as well. It’s made up of a 48MP f/1.75 primary sensor, a 16MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle shooter, a 5MP macro lens, and a 2MP monochrome camera. Unfortunately, there’s still no telephoto sensor.

Other specifications of the OnePlus 8T include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset, 16MP f/2.4 selfie camera, 8GB or 12GB of RAM, two UFS 3.1 storage options (128GB or 256GB), a 4,500mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging, and OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11 out of the box.

The OnePlus 8T will be arriving in Malaysia next week on 22 October; we’ll find out then exactly how much the flagship smartphone will cost locally. For the sake of comparison, the OnePlus 8T retails at $749 (about RM3,105) in the US for the 256GB model with 12GB of RAM.
