We are only four days away from the official launch of the Proton X50, and the national carmaker is putting up more teasers of the highly anticipated B-segment SUV on its social media accounts. This latest teaser shows off the X50 in Citric Orange, a colour option that we haven’t seen too much of.
We actually spotted the X50 in Citric Orange earlier this month, but that was during the daytime. In the teaser video below, we got a glimpse of how the Citric Orange model looks like when it is nighttime. You can see this at about the six-second mark in the video below.
Besides that, the video also highlights the performance of the X50. More specifically, the 1.5L turbocharged direct-injected engine that outputs 177PS and 255Nm of torque. This mill is only offered in the range-topping Flagship model; the other three models (Standard, Executive, and Premium) get a 1.5L turbocharged port-injected engine instead with 150PS and 226Nm of torque. Still very respectable figures.
Regardless of which engine option you go for, it will be paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, which is the very same one found in the Proton X70. According to Proton, the combination of the 1.5L TGDi engine and 7DCT allow the Flagship model to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in only 7.9 seconds.
