MSI Opens New Concept Store in Low Yat Plaza; Offers Laptops, PC Hardware & More

MSI opened the doors to its new concept store in Low Yat Plaza earlier today, and it’s pretty unique. Unlike most MSI physical retail stores, this particular outlet offers a wide range of products from the Taiwanese company. These include gaming laptops (of course), graphics cards, motherboards, monitors, and even PC casings.

To celebrate the opening of the new store, MSI also showcased a new gaming laptop at the launch event: the MSI GL65. Powered by an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti GPU, it’s a decently powerful gaming laptop. In fact, with some tweaks to the graphics settings, you can definitely get playable frame rate on most AAA titles with this GPU.

Like most gaming laptops worth their salt in the market now, the GL65 also has a 15.6-inch 1920 x 1080 IPS display with a high 120Hz refresh rate. Thanks to the 120Hz screen, everything will look extra smooth. Trust us: you’ll notice the higher refresh rate by just moving the mouse cursor around the desktop.

Aside from that, the GL65 also comes with an Intel Core i7-9750H processor paired with 8GB of RAM. That’s not an awfully generous RAM capacity, so thankfully, you can equip this gaming machine with up to 32GB of RAM. As for storage, you’ll get a 512GB NVMe SSD, with an extra slot for a HDD. The keyboard, as with most MSI gaming laptops, are by SteelSeries; complete with per key RGB lighting.

If you’re keen to get the MSI GL65 gaming laptop, it costs RM5,699 with a two-year warranty from MSI.

As mentioned, there are more than just gaming laptops offered at the new MSI concept store. If you’re thinking of building a PC, you can definitely get most – if not all – of your parts from the outlet. Besides MSI-branded motherboards, graphics cards, and gaming monitors, the store also carries processors from AMD and Intel. PSUs are sold there too, though we only spotted ones from Thermaltake.

PC peripherals are also available in the concept store, so whether you’re looking for a mouse, keyboard, or mouse pad, they’re all on the shelves. Hey, even MSI backpacks can be purchased there.

The new MSI concept store is now open in Low Yat Plaza. If you’d like to check it out, it is located on the ground floor.
